The G- Body Cadillac

For many years now I gave wondered what a G-Body cadillac would look like. The G-Body initially called the A-Body was introduced in 1978 as GMs downsized midsized car platform.

Every division got a version except Cadillac. I’m thinking it is because the platform initially didn’t include a formal sedan until 1980. This platform has one fault, the rear windows on the 4 door do not roll down. This is a problem I will attempt to remedy. You’d be surprised how much this car shares dimensional wise with the 1980 Seville/ Eldorado.

So that’s the plan, I’ll search for a parts 1981 Cadillac Seville and transplant the electronics, interior, and engine into the G-Body. So I searched and bought a 1980 Buick Century, which is a great starting point due to the cars overall simplicity. There will be design changes I will discuss in upcoming posts.
